SLATER FIRE INCIDENT ASSISTANCE

If you have been displaced by the “Slater Fire Incident” and need assistance:

• Contact Ann Escobar at 530-598-4615 or at the Yreka Wellness Center
• Ann can help you register for assistance with Red Cross and assistance through KTHA if appropriate. Red Cross is assisting with lodging and fuel vouchers.
• Ann can also coordinate shelter in outlying areas such as Redding and Eureka.
• Unable to register at the Yreka Wellness Center? Register with the Red Cross, 1-800-REDCROSS
• Karuk Tribal TANF is providing assistance to those meeting the qualification for emergency assistance. 530-842-4775 Yreka Office
• We are currently working with NCIDC to assist with the process of applying for gift cards.

Ask for what you need:

Many of us are not accustomed to asking for assistance, these are not normal times. There are so many people who are just waiting to help during this crisis. Please ask for what you need and communicate with the many resources that will be headed our way.  We are working with teams that assisted in the Car Fire so they will understand the devastation we are facing. Remember to be patient with us as we are getting set up.  Many of our volunteers have been directly impacted by the fires and are caring for displaced families while coordinating resources.  Together we will get everyone the help they need.

• As soon as it is safe, we will be setting up a service center and food distribution center at 19 Davis Road, Happy Camp, CA
• Other partnerships are being formed with service agencies as we speak.
