YOUTH WELLNESS COURT

Welcome:

The Youth Wellness Court team would like to welcome eligible youth to the program. We are honored to be part of youth in their healing process. The Youth Wellness Court Program is geared towards helping youth find the balance in their life that works for them. With youth input, we will guide youth through the healing process by helping youth utilize inter-tribal departments and other agencies within the community. We are available to youth throughout their process of  becoming a strong and healthy young individual within the community. We are here to remind youth that they do not have to make their healing journey alone! With youth input, and our guidance, we strive to assist youth to become   empowered to overcome any obstacles that may hinder their healing process.

Mission:

To assist and support tribal youth who are currently involved in the juvenile justice system in order to help them reconnect with family and the Karuk community.

Goal:

Prevent further alcohol and substance abuse related crimes of Juvenile offenders. 

Program Benefits:

  • Access to tribal teachings, activities, and ceremonies
  • Peer support
  • Court accompaniment (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, staff are not able to accompany youth to state court proceedings; as the restrictions lift, this could be re-instated).

 

KARUK TRIBE

ADULT HEALING TO WELLNESS RE-ENTRY PROGRAM

Welcome:
The Healing to Wellness Team would like to welcome eligible adults to the re-entry program. The staff is honored to be part of adults healing process. The program is geared towards helping eligilbe adults find the balance in their life that works for them. With participants input, staff will guide participants through the healing process by helping them utilize inter-tribal departments and other agencies within the community. Staff will be available to participants throughout the process of them becoming a strong and healthy parent for their children and a positive role model in the community. Staff will be available to remind eligible adults that they do not have to begin their healing journey alone!

Mission:
Provide access to culturally-based tribal supportive rehabilitative services and activities to eligible participants seeking balance mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Goal:
Prevent further alcohol and substance abuse related crimes of offenders.

  • Access to tribal teachings, activities, and ceremonies;
  • Peer support;
  • Court Accompaniment (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, staff are currently not accompanying to state court; as the restrictions lift, this could be re-instated.)

Eligibility:

Karuk Tribal Member or Enrolled Descendent Member

Transitioning from Prison or Jail (or recently released and residing within the Karuk Service Area)

On Parol or Probation

 

Participation in the program requires the willingness to be working towards a clean, sober and violent free lifestyle!
