Salary & Benefits

The Karuk Tribe of California offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefit package to all full time, regular employees which includes;

Medical/dental/vision/life insurance.
Medical insurance provided through Blue Shield of California ($1,000 deductible PPO Plan w/$15 Office Visit Co-Pay). Dental/Vision insurance provided through Meritain Health. $15,000 of Life and AD&D insurance provided through Blue Shield of California.
401(k) retirement plan.
5% of gross salary contribution by Tribe. Employees allowed to contribute up to 10% pre-tax. Total annual contribution cannot exceed maximum allowed by IRS.
Paid vacation/sick leave.
Vacation accrues as follows: years one through three of service – 2 weeks per year, years four and five of service – 3 weeks per year, and after five years of service – 4 weeks per year. Sick leave accrues at the rate of one day per month.
Paid holidays.
Twelve paid holidays each year including: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Native American Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday After, Christmas Day (or equivalent religious holiday), and one personal day to be used on or near your Birthday.
